Mr Fothergills Dahlia Pompon MixedGives a honeycomb ball of dainty flowers in an excellent array of colours. Ideal for cutting a small proportion of plants will not grow true to type. A half hardy perennial which will flower during its first year from an early sowing. The tubers may be lifted and stored indoors during winter. Prefers a hot sunny position.S: February - April (I) F: June - October Sow indoors a warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow 0.5cm (1/4") deep in trays of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20C (60-68F) is ideal. Keep Dahlia Pompon seeds moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-28 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm (2") apart to other trays when large enough to handle. (Always handle by leaf not stem.) Grow on in cooler but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 45cm (18") apart when frosts are over.
