These simple blooms each with a bright yellow centre are produced through the summer. Ideal for pots tubs borders and beds.Adored by insects especially butterflies they attract a variety of other pollinators such as bees moths and useful predators such as hoverflies ladybirds lacewings and many more. A half hardy perennial best treated as a half hardy annual flowering the same year. Prefers a well drained soil and sunny position.S: February - April (I) F: June - OctoberTo grow Dahlia seeds A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need. Sow 0.5cm (1/4") deep in trays of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20c (60-68F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-28 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm (2") apart to other trays when large enough to handle. (Always handle leaf never by the stem.) Grow on in cooler but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 30cm (1') apart when frosts are over. Water plants regularly in dry spells and remove dead flowers to prolong the flowering season.Contains 50 seeds inside!
