A superb early maincrop variety which produces a heavy crop of delicious copper-brown, round-oval bulbs. What makes Santero truly outstanding is its excellent resistance to Downy mildew. It also shows good resistance to bolting and stores well. Heat Treated Onion Sets - These sets are specially heat treated over a period of 20 weeks to reduce the risk of premature bolting (running to seed). As a result of this process the skins of the sets become darker and the moisture content lower and initial growth may be slower than normal. However, the growth soon speeds up and the results will be significantly better than un-treated sets.Please note: Heat treated sets are not available until early April and will be despatched separately.
