In cookery the flowers and young leaves have a cucumber taste and may be used to garnish salads or dips and chopped leaves can be added to soups and stews during the last few minutes of cooking. Resourcefully Borage flowers which are a pretty vivid sky blue colour can also be used to make attractive cake decorations.

Sow March to May outdoors directly into prepared soil in full sun sowing thinly 13mm deep in rows 30cm apart.When growing thin seedlings to 23cm apart and keep well watered
