Commonly known as Bush Clematis has fragment rich violet coloured flowers from midsummer and evolve into seed heads come the autumn. It grows in slow spreading clumps, making it ideal for borders in cottage or formal gardens. In spring it should be pruned back leaving a woody base for new growth to appear.
