Cornus alba Kesselringii - Black Stem Dog Wood Cornus alba Kesselringii - Black Stem Dog Wood

A very striking Cornus, alba Kesselringiia is admired for its dark purple and near black stems. The Black Stem Dog Wood is also known as the poor man's black bamboo, but that really doesn't do this shrub any justice. Green leaves cover the plant in spring followed by white flowers in summer and then bluish-white berries, in autumn the leaves turn a wonderful plum colour, finally dropping to reveal the black stems. Supplied in a 3lt pot. Eventual Height: 1.5 mts Eventual Spread: 1.2 mts Full to Partial Sun Deciduous Flowering Time: May-June
