Large velvety trumpets, sometimes with lilac shading, held over large dramatic plants. The perfumed flowers are followed by intriguing, thorny but poisonous fruits. A half hardy glabrous perennial. Datura D. metel Solanaceae. Commonly known as 'Angels Trumpet' and 'Horn of Plenty' it is naturalised across many temperate and tropical areas around the globe, but it is most likely that its origin was the Americas.
