RHS Green Dogwood (Cornus stolonifera Flaviramea ) is a deciduous shrub has green leaves turning red or orange in autumn. It has distinctive greenishyellow stems that lighten in winter and white flowers in spring and summer followed by white berries in autumn. It is suitable with any soil, in particular damp soil and needs to be cut back in spring for stem colour. RHS Green Dogwood (Cornus stolonifera Flaviramea ) has no serious insect or disease problems; generally disease and pestfree. Dogwoods are mostly grown for their coloured stems and provide a bright flash of colour in autumn and winter. There are several different varieties, but with all similar habits; creamy, white flowers in spring, followed by blue, white berries with oval dark green leaves, which then redden in autumn and fall to reveal brightly coloured stems. Do not prune them in the first year, only before they bud (FebruaryMarch) cut then down to a woody base within 4 of the ground every year. Old plants can be regenerated by cutting out the old wood from the centre of the plant. Bare root hedging is a very low cost way of planting a hedge, but is only available to buy and plant when dormant (NovemberMarch). Orders ahead of 1st November will be stored to guarantee an early delivery date.
