Matteuccia struthiopteris
Matteuccia struthiopteris is a magnificent fern with lovely fresh fronds in spring. New plants arise from runners, so needs a bit of space. Upright fronds resembling a shuttlecock, hence the common name. The foliage looks effective with most herbaceous plants and shrubs or in a pond margin. Grow in a sheltered site in neutral to acid, humus rich soil in partial shade. Supplied in a 2lt pot. Eventual Height: 170cm Eventual Spread: 100cm Full to Partial Shade Deciduous RHS Award of Garden Merit
