Mr Fothergills Chinease Lanterns.These Chinease Lanterns are hardy perennial flowers the year after sowing. Fascinating lanterns turn from green to red year after year. Superb in mixed borders and dried flower displays.S: March - July (I) May - July (O) F: July - October (lanterns from September)To Sow and Grow:Sow the Chinease Lanterns indoors for surest results 0.5cm (1/4) deep in a tray of compost. Water well and place in a cold frame unheated greenhouse or on a warm kitchen windowsill. Keep moist.Seedlings usually appear in 21-30 days. Transplant individually when large enough to handle to 8cm (3) pots. (Always hold seedlings by leaf never by the stem.)Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions before planting out 45cm (18) apart.Or sow the Chinease Lanterns outdoors thinly in a seed bed into finely prepared soil which has already been watered.Thin seedlings to 5cm (2) apart before planting out to flowering position in autumn.Caution: Harmful if eaten - do not eat berries.Contains 150 seeds inside.
