This hardy annual produces an incessant parade of sumptuous 2cm rich deep purple to black flowers with a scalloped silvery-white edge. It has a truly ground hugging habit that will provide ground cover and contrast growing to a height of 10cm (4in) with a spread of 30-45cm (12-15in).

Great for all containers and hanging baskets this plant also makes a tidy edging plant.Sow in early spring outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing 1.5mm deep in rows 15cm apart.

Germination usually takes approximately 21 days. When large enough to handle thin out to 15cm apart. These plants prefer a site with part shade or a sunny position that does not dry out.
