The Pinus Mugo (Mountain Pine) is a pyramidal or low growing tree large hardy shrub, which is rather slow growing. The two dark green sheaths are needlelike and about 2 inches long whilst the bark is ash grey brown to blackish grey. Mature plants produce attractive oval cones which are about 12 inches in length. This tree is very hardy and ideal for a cold or exposed garden whilst with a little pruning it can be kept at a manageable height.Thrives in most soil types. EEC Plant Passport UKEW 8241
