Pinus radiata is a large evergreen coniferous tree with a conical habit when young. Its needlelike leaves are arranged in clusters of three and add a wonderful bright green colour to the foliage. The tree also produces a large number of long brown cones which can cling to the branches for a number of years. This impressive fast growing specimen tree is extremely hardy, resilient and is adaptable to a broad range of soils. It will grow well in freedraining soil in any sunny aspect. Ideal for woodland and coastal areas due to its tolerance to drought.
