The Prunus Kanzan is a very popular and widely planted vigorous and upright deciduous tree. In spring the trees stiff ascending branches are covered with dark green leaves and turn a bronzy orange before falling in autumn. However shortly before these bronze leaves appear the trees habit bursts into colour as masses of clusters of large double rich pink flowers appear and provide a great contrast between the autumn leaves and flowers.
