Heavy crops of firm sweet and juicy pears with creamy-white flesh. Raised in 1885 in Hertfordshire and exhibited in that year at the British Pear Conference (hence the name) it is reliable even in poor conditions (and shows more resistance to frost than some other varieties) so is ideal for most UK gardens.
