They have been designed for safe pond-side and garden electrical connections and are extra safe. The Switch Box is designed for use with more permanent outdoor power items such as water features mains lighting or pond items (whereas the entry level Socket Boxes available on LS7886D and LS7887D are for standard 3 pin plugs and the Remote Control Socket Boxes available on LS7876D and LS7877D are the premium products coming complete with outdoor IP56 plugs and sockets). With the Switch Box the appliance is wired directly into the box.
