A must for the red border; its fiery orange-scarlet flowers contrast vividly with deep bronze foliage in mid-summer. Some call it the Jerusalem Cross as it was thought to have travelled here from Jerusalem during the time of the Crusades, even though its native home is Russia.. Packet Contents 20 seeds. Sow the seeds into a tray of moist, firm, quality compost, pressing them gently into the surface. Place in a polythene bag to conserve moisture. Place in a warm, light place (but not in direct sunlight) at around 15-20°C (60-68°F) until germination occurs. At the first sign of germination (21-25 days), remove the bag and maintain a temperature of 15°C (60°F). Grow on in good light keeping the compost moist. Transplant the seedlings, when large enough to handle, into 9cm (3½") pots of compost and grow on watering as required. Choose a sunny site and plant out in Sept-Oct, spacing the plants 20-25cm (8-10") apart.. . Average Growing Height: 21-30CM. .
