The Sarracenia Flava is commonly known as the American Pitcher Plant and is a wonderful fly catcher. They produce large yellow flowers in spring which are followed by deep yellow pitchers. The pitchers can grow between 3045 cms high (1218 inches). It is fully hardy and can be planted outside in the garden or inside a greenhouse or on a window sill. One important consideration is that Sarracenia s do not respond well to tap water, so it is recommended to use rain water.
