This Sarracenia hybrid of s.alata x s.flava maxima is commonly known as the American Pitcher Plant. It is a lovely hybrid which produces tall, elegant yellow pitchers with good veining. The pitchers grow between 3070 cms high (1230 inches). These are preceded by large yellow flowers in the spring time. It is fully hardy and can be planted outside in the garden or inside a greenhouse or on a window sill. One important consideration is that Sarracenia s do not respond well to tap water, so it is recommended to use rain water.
