This Sarracenia hybrid of s.catesbyi x s.popei is commonly known as the American Pitcher Plant. It is a lovely hybrid which produces orangered pitchers with good veining. The pitchers grow between 1530 cms high (612 inches). These are preceded by pink flowers in the spring time. It is fully hardy and can be planted outside in the garden or inside a greenhouse or on a window sill. One important consideration is that Sarracenia s do not respond well to tap water, so it is recommended to use rain water.
