Strawberry Sallybright (Mid Season) Pack of 12 Plants Strawberry Sallybright (Mid Season) Pack of 12 Plants

This strawberry was bred by Dr David Simpson at East Malling, and named after his wife. Fruits are large, uniform and shiny and well presented on upright plants making picking easy. The flavour is superb with just a hint of acid to balance the sweetness and it makes superb strawberry jam. Importantly for the gardener this is another strawberry with excellent all round resistance to disease. Supplied as bare root plants. Plant strawberries 45cm (18") apart with 75cm (2½') between each row. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot and dig in plenty of well-rotted manure or compost. Full growing instructions included. November onward Note - Plants supplied will be strong, open-ground runners (plants), certified under the Plant Health Propagation Scheme (PHPS). All plants will be hand graded and selected before packing.HEALTH BENEFITS - One of the most nutritious of fruits! Low in calories (approximately 90 calories per punnet). Very high in vitamin C (five berries a day provides more vitamin C than an orange!). High in folate (which aids memory and concentration). Plus high in fibre too!
