Gerberas are well known and loved houseplants and cut flowers, but plant breeders have produced a miracle, and created a fully hardy series called 'Garvinea'. They have been shown to survive harsh winters and spring up with their amazing colours year after year. Perfect in mixed borders or pots, they will flower from May onwards, producing over 50 flowers per plant every year. They will spread to about 40 cm (16 ins) wide, dying back underground each winter.
