Description: Classic old English variety, a chance seedling found growing against the wall of Blenheim Park, Oxfordshire, in 1740. The apples are large crisp and prolific with a distinctive dry nutty flavour. A reliable
favourite of gardeners for many years.

Planting distance: 4m (13ft)

Pollination: Group 3 triploid so will not pollinate other varieties. Pollination groups are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 according to flowering time. Best results will be obtained if this variety is planted near another apple of the same group or one group either side (so an ideal pollinator for a group 3 variety is one in group 2, 3 or 4 ).

Rootstock: M26 Semi dwarfing, Approximate height 3-4 metres when mature
